Garbage In - Garbage Out

So today I ran in a 4.5 mile footrace, my first run in a week. It's called the Jerome Hill Climb in Jerome, AZ. They refer to the race as vertically flat. It was beautiful and as I journeyed up the 1,000 foot elevation gain I had a few thoughts:

  • Wow, this is really pretty
  • I can see Sedona
  • I wonder if I can see Cornville
  • I probably shouldn't have eaten McDonalds for breakfast (but I have to get that last egg mcmuffin in before the weekend is up, binge week rules)
  • I probably shouldn't have spent the week eating poorly, nah who I am kidding.

Oh well, I'm enjoying my food and my week. Plus I'm not all that unhappy with my 55:32 time (that's a 12:00 pace uphill), or my normal middle of the pack age group finish. The best part was I got to run behind Claudia (about 8 minutes behind), she and her wife Evelyn are here visiting from New York. They are very cool women and Kyle and I loved spending the day with them.
